The world as i see it..:)

As I walked between the gardens today, contemplating about everything in general, I had a question in my mind. Why is it that our lives are so distorted? Why we don’t seem to find peace in our minds and in our hearts?
Everywhere around the world lies a hopeless situation. Some people are crying over unemployment, some over love, some over pain and some people are simply being oppressed. There is not a single home where one would find eternal happiness, everyone is depressed and restless.
As I wondered all about this, I realized that perhaps being scientifically developed humans; we often neglect the little facts behind problems and try to think over much larger solutions. Perhaps, we are not trying to find peace through smaller acts. We invest huge fortunes in trying to find a good night’s sleep when all we needed to do was to say some kind words to a child and find serenity within us from seeing him smile.
All we needed to do was to bow in front of God to ask for mercy and feel his love within us, instead of trying to find fake love over distances. Perhaps we have forgotten our values which enabled us to lift the one who falls, to help the one who’s distressed and to feel the pain of the oppressed. The candles which should provide warmth to all the unsheltered has disappeared from our soul which make us feel lonely in spite of living in mansions because we have forgotten the blessing of sharing.
We try to find relaxation in loud deafening music, when all our soul wants to hear is the music played by the wind, the sound of the rustling of the leaves of the trees and the sensation of the waves crashing the rocks. We have made ourselves to believe that the mortal humanity is marvelous when we see large buildings and artificial joy when we should have praised the architect who has made us perfect and unique. Why have we become so indifferent to our responsibilities in the world? To help one another in this time of crisis.
Unless we contribute a part of ourselves towards spreading love and harmony in the world, we ourselves will destroy our inner souls along with our mortal body and die the death of a cruel man unconcerned of the miserable people around us.
“Where are you, Oh hope in the midst of darkness? Life in the valley of death and peace in the world of war?, The world needs you, The world calls you”

The New Lays Limited Edition

I don't know when I turned into a chips critic, but here I am. Blogging about the four new flavors that Lays has come up with for the ICC Cricket World Cup 2011. I got all today from Chase. Oh you know the one next to Naheed supermarket. The pack says 15 rupees but they charged just 14. No wonder Naheed Supermarket seems deserted now.
Anyway, I am posting them according to my liking. Which means the first photo is the one I liked the most and the last is the one I liked the least.

Sadly the Pakistani Chicken Achari tasted like the regular Masala one. So what's your take on the new Lays?

CRISTIANO RONALDO

BIOGRAPHY

  Birthday: 1985/02/05

Full name: Cristiano Ronaldo dos Santos Aveiro

Place of Birth: Funchal, Madeira, Portugal

Height: 1.85 m (6 ft 1 in)

Position: Right/Centre/Left Midfielder, Forward

Nickname(s): Ronaldo, CR7, Ronnie, Rocket Ronaldo

Wife / girlfriend: Carolina Patrocinio

Lives in: Manchester, Cheschire

Cristiano Ronaldo was born on the 5th February 1985, on the small island of Madeira, Portugal.

Cristiano Ronaldo arrived in Manchester amid a media storm. Manchester United had m
anaged to sign the player without the Press suspecting anything. As the Stock Market was told that t
he player had been
signed, hundreds of journalists flooded up to Manchester to get a proper look at one of Manchester United's youngest
signings.

Named after Ronald Reagan, due to his father's respect for the man, f
ew would have gambled that this child would make it to the very top of the Football tree, especially with Madeira mainly being used for farm-land. He has one
brother and two sisters, and it is family whom he deems most important in his life.
It was on the dusty back-streets of this sma
ll island that Ronaldo learnt his first few tricks, and it was also on this Island that he was first scouted. By the age of twelve Ronaldo had established himself as the be
st player on the Island, able to use his ball skills and pace to get past full-grown defenders for Andorinha
Having been recognised aas serious talent, all that was left was for the big Portuguese clubs to scrap it out for his signature. Though Porto and Boavista came in for him, he could only ever play for Sp
orting the club he supported as a boy.
He progressed slowly through the youth ranks, although all those who worked with him were impressed with the
talent that he had for his age, as well as his maturity.
At the tender age of 17,Ronaldo was thrown in at the deep end with his first game against Moreirense. Two goals on his first appearance not only gave him his dream debut, but also endeared him to the
fans, who soon learnt to chant for the ball to be passed to him. A goal against title-rivals Boavista also saw him rise to the top of the "Fan's Favourites" list.
His skills were watched closely by all of the big clubs in Europe, including Liverpool and Juventus, in the U-17 European Championships. His dazzling skills put England U-17s out, and everyon
e who watched felt they had seen something special.
At the end of his first season at Sporting he was linked to Liverpool. Though he claimed he was extrem
ely happy at Sporting, he was also flattered by the interest of such a big club, who used to do well in the Premier League.
Sporting finished top in the league, and Ronaldo was
hailed as the future of the club, alongside Quaresma, another Portuguese Starlet.
As it was, both moved away, with the money on the table to much for the Portuguese club to turn down. Best-friend Quaresma ended up at Barcelona, whilst Ronaldo came to the bright red of Manchester.

The deal saw Ronald become the most expensive teenage signing in Britain, with Manchester United paying £12.24million over two seasons, in two equal payments.
Those who had not seen him play baulked at the price such a lot of money for someone unproven!
Those who had seen the Man Utd vs. Sporting friendly just three days before, however, knew that this player was special. Playing for Sporting, Ronaldo had taken the game to the reds, and was the main reason that Manchester United lost 3-1. After the game, all the United players could talk about was how well Ronaldo had played, and they begged Sir Alex to buy him. Sir Alex had been following him for months, but decided that the time was right not least because other clubs were getting increasingly closer to buying him.
An so, on 12th August 2003, Cristiano Ronaldo held up the famous Red shirt, with his favourite number 7 (it is hero Figo's number) for all the press to see.
A new star had been born.
His first performance for the club was against Bolton. He entered the fray with an hour gone, with United 1 0 up. A standing ovation from the fans at old Trafford did nothing to settle his nerves, but he rewarded the fans for their trust. A man-of-the-match performance followed, and Ronaldo became legend. He had a hand in two of the goals, won an unconverted penalty, and mesmerized the Bolton defence.

The next day the media proclaimed him one of the best players ever for United, comparing him with Red-Legend George Best. Much had been seen, but much is still to come. Ronaldo got better and better as the season went on, eventually leading the Reds to the FA Cup - though somewhat suprisingly, he was not awarded "Man of the Match in that game". It was a disappointing season for United, but no-one was questioning whether Ronaldo was worth the £12million Sir Alex had splashed out on him just eight months previously - everyone could see that Ronaldo was going to be an incredible player.
Ronaldo matured so much during his first year at United that he became a regular in the Portuguese national first team squad. He played a major role in their progress to the final of Euro 2004, where they opposed Greece. In a match that was played on Portuguese soil, Portugal deserved to win the game, but were beaten by a goal scored on the counter-attack by a defensive Greece team.
Ronaldo was also selected for the Portuguese Olympic football team for 2004. He is fast becoming the greatest player who ever lived.

A tree!

Starts very typically with a very stormy night with wind lashing anger at the tangible world, not letting anything withstand it and underestimating the obstinacy this world is capable of demonstrating.

It swished from one side to the other, it hissed and whooped!  With its branches stretched out to be its armor the tree persisted in its effort. Snap! Crack! Pain shot through down to the roots. A branch loosened its grip on the tree; the shield threatened to break against the ruthlessness. The tree leaned to an extreme side looking dangerously vulnerable. It held on to the loosely hanging branch, not the one to let go so easy, enervated it still focused on its priority of preserving everything about himself as it had been , as it was and as it had to stay. Fraught but standing on its own the tree settled its dying limb/fading dreams/withering fraction on crutches on a nearby roof. Relief! The anchors finally been set, safety promised…

Everyday I look at that tree self destruction is redefined. The branch is pulling the tree down and in another week there won't be much of the tree left. And in another month it would probably have silently died a willing victim's/martyr's death. Sustenance of a wound is liable to be fatal. The anchors just threatening to pull down the whole ship and there isn't much the captain has been taught to do in such a situation; after all he believes blindly in the anchor as an ally.

I hope I remember to tell the gardener to cut off that branch; the tree deserves to live, even if it is at the cost of letting go of a very important part of itself; letting go of a whole piece of himself promises life after all!

The tree would be standing high on its own again, without crutches holding him down.

…So why not? Let go!

Pakistani singer Rahat Ali Khan, manager fined Rs 15 lakh each

NEW DELHI: Pakistani singer Rahat Fateh Ali Khan and his manager Maroof have been slapped with a penalty of Rs 15 lakh each in connection with recovery of huge amount of foreign currency from them which stands confiscated, official sources said on Sunday.

The duo were to board a Dubai flight when the sleuths of Directorate of Revenue Intelligence detained them at Indira Gandhi International Airport on February 13 with allegedly undeclared amount of $1.24 lakh (nearly Rs 60 lakh) and some other instruments too in foreign currency.

After completing its probe, the DRI has charged them with violating provisions of the FEMA and Customs Act and sent the matter for adjudication to customs, they said. (Read: DRI slaps FEMA on Rahat)

The customs department imposed a penalty of Rs 15 lakh on each of them but they have not paid the penalty yet, they said.

The investigations against event manager Chitresh Shrivastava, who is under detention, and two foreign exchange dealers of Mumbai, would continue, the sources said.

The DRI had questioned Rahat (37) and Maroof about the money recovered and payments received during their shows in the country and the mode of money transfer.

It had also quizzed a number of other persons in the case which included his event managers.

Meanwhile, the agency sleuths had raided the premises of "Eyeline Telefilm and Events" in Mumbai, owned by Chitresh Shrivastava, elder brother of Bollywood singer Aadesh Shrivastava.

Sources privy to the investigations claimed the sleuths found Rs 51 lakh in cash from the company which was seized besides some documents which could be helpful in the probe being carried out by the DRI.

Rahat and his entire 16-member troupe, including Maroof and the event manager, were detained by the authorities. The troupe was on in its way to Lahore via Dubai. Rahat was quizzed by DRI officials for 10 hours on Thursday.

As per norms, no one can carry beyond $5,000 in cash and $5,000 in other instruments. A person has to declare the amount if he is carrying more than this to the customs department.

According to sources, the payments by an event manager to Rahat were made in Indian currency and US dollars and these people were allegedly found converting the dollars to Indian rupees "through unauthorised channels".

Rahat is rated as a one of the top playback singers of Hindi film industry and has several hit numbers to his credit. He won the Filmfare Award for Best Male Playback Singer this year for 'Dil To Bachcha Hai Ji' from the movie 'Ishqiya' and his first Bollywood hit was 'Laagi Tumse Mann Ki Lagan' from the film 'Paap'.

Extremism, Moderation or the Real Islam?

Extremism and moderation are the two words we hear a lot these days in the news. People are beginning to refer two shades of Islam, extremist Islam and moderate Islam, but the question still remains which of these two are the real Islam?

Is Islam just about some bearded men trying to enforce Shariah in an area by hook or by crook? If that is the case, Allah could have done that long ago because He is the utmost power who can enforce every human being alive on earth to follow His religion but no, this wasn’t the case, God gave us human beings enough brains to realize what’s right and what’s wrong and therefore forced acceptance of religion is an irrational concept of a religion. Even if we look at the Prophet (p.b.u.h) ‘s life, we never saw him lifting a sword if someone refused to pray or if someone refused to accept Islam, all the wars fought in his era were about self defence because Islam is a total religion of peace and doesn’t resort to gaining it after war, but believes in living in harmony and avoiding wars.

Is Islam about abandoning Hijab (the Islam veil) like we saw in Turkey just because it doesn’t fit with the so called Modern age and the so-called liberalism factor? Is Islam about blowing up yourself just because some one doesn’t agree with your point of view as we see in sectarian violence? All this under the banner of Islam which means peace? Is it about doing all the stuff you like in Islam but never stopping yourself from doing the things it condemns, because it world affect your life?

Is Islam about keeping your women uneducated because you think they would go astray even though the Prophet (p.b.u.h) said: “It is obligatory on every Muslim man and women to acquire education” or is Islam about being biological Muslims not knowing anything about your origins and being just Muslims because we have Muslim names?

The Islam I know was sent as a mercy to mankind. The Islam I know obeys Muslims to be the best in character and in morals even to innocent non Muslims so that they may realize that indeed this is the path to success and tranquility. The Islam I know grants blessings to people who make others smile through right means.

The Islam I know asks its believers to fight for what’s right and against injustice, not with your own Muslim brothers and sisters. The Islam I know teaches to bow down in complete surrender in front of the one who gave us unlimited blessings because only He is worthy of it. The Islam I know gives respect and liberty to women like no other system in the world, keeps them in the veil because they are precious like treasures which are kept safe in treasure chests.

What a beautiful religion we have, and what a terrible lie we have turn it into. A prominent English scholar once said:

“Islam is the best religion, Muslims are the worst followers”

We need faithful Muslims today who are strong in there words and in there actions. We don’t want Osama Bin Ladens to destroy our amazing religion anymore. We don’t follow a religion of force, but a religion of education, morals and the best leaders in the world.
Stand up and prove it through your deeds!

A winter's tale

A year without a winter is like a rose without thorns, impossible. It first signals it arrival with the advent of autumn when yellow leaves fall on the ground from weak and helpless trees.
Then a time comes when there isn't a single leaf on a tree,  just white snow. It is a time of despair for the unsheltered, unclothed and hungry. Walking on the cold ground with chilly winds blowing in your face is like inviting the angel of death towards you.
Perhaps sometimes its useless to fight with that which is bound to come once in a while in everyone’s life. No matter how strong a man may be, he still has to wait for spring to come to feel the warmth, the life and the strength within the soul. Only then will he realize the blessing of happiness which enriches the mind and glows the face and makes one ready to face the winter again…..
Hope like the gleaming tapers light, Adorns and cheers our way, And still as darker grows the night, emits a brighter day….
